Thursday September 4th

A travel day. Up at 8, brecky with Kurt & Rudi, then off to the airport for the Air Berlin flight to Berlin.  All went well, and thanks to instructions from mate Quentin, we were at the hotel pretty quickly after arrival. Then it was time to hit the pavement, get something to eat and have a look around the local area.

We saw a boat in a canal & lots of naked people sunbathing in a park

A scuplture

A Soviet WW2 Memorial

A big stick with a golden thing on it

A man on a horse

But best of all, we found a pub in Berlin for beer'o'clock

Friday September 5th

Had an easy morning with a big breakfast at the hotel and then waited for friends from Mannheim,  Quentin and Kai, to arrive. By 10:00 they had checked into the hotel and we were in our way for another long day of walking. Apologies as I haven't had a chance to add more detail to the photos. we have been walking, eating and drinking so much there has been little time to spend on descriptions.

At the Jewish Memorial

The Berlin wall went along this street. Kai (left) can remember visiting the museum on the right and looking over the wall into east Berlin.

Saturday September 6th

We split up for the day. Charlie and Quentin went to the FAI

(the world's largest electronics exhibition)

and Phil and Kai went to the palace of Fredrick II.

At the IFA

At the Palace somewhere
